"Porte-crayon" is the French terms for "crayon carrier". It refers to a tube that is made of metal and split at each end, thereby allowing it to hold a piece of charcoal or chalk tightly with rings on the outside Thus, the artist does not have to hold the charcoal or chalk in his or her fingers and has more control over them while drawing. |
