Michael Kachan's playful images dazzle their viewer with surprise, unfolding rich and sensuous colors and textures reminiscent of the South American master, Boulanger.
Kachan was born in the Armenian countryside in 1964. There he studied art in high school and being a noteworthy student he earned admission to the Kiev Institute of Arts where he graduated with honors.
Before immigrating to Israel in 1992 he was selected to represent Ukrainian artists in a group exhibition which toured most major cities of the Soviet Union.
A partial list of his accomplishments includes solo exhibitions at the Jewish Community Center in Rome, Binyanei Hauma in Jerusalem, the Theresa Coshin Gallery in Paris, the Avarim Gallery in Tel Aviv, and the Art Expo in New York. He has also exhibited in group exhibitions in Brighton, England and Hamburg, Germany.
