"I'm grateful to photography for enabling me to integrate the elements of my life as a woman, an artist, a wife and a mother."
Whether at work in her studio, caring for her children, preparing food in her kitchen, or traveling the world, Amy Melious reveals her view of the world around her through the lens of her camera.
From her home in rural Northern California, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, Redwood forests, ranchlands and vineyards, Amy has worked as a photographer since 1985. Since her first visit to Europe at 18, she has periodically returned for extended stays. She is continually drawn by the colors, cultures and friendships she experiences abroad.
She has earned widespread respect for her devotion to unique artistic imagery, working with equal sensitivity in both color and black and white. She typically chooses to feature still life, florals, landscapes and people in her art.
